What's New in Backup and Recovery?

This section describes new features of backup and recovery for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and provides pointers to additional information.

The 11g Release 2 of Recovery Manager (RMAN) continues to enhance and extend the reliability, efficiency and availability of Oracle Database backup and recovery. Some highlights in this release are the inclusion of Oracle's Database Backup Cloud offering, referred to as Oracle Secure Backup (OSB) Cloud Module, the addition of Expanded Backup Compression Levels, and several DUPLICATE Database Command Enhancements.
